Fluid Flow in Porous Media
Fluid Flow in Porous Media
This course provides Science & Engineering students with the main academic principles, and practical aspects to properly extend their comprehension and understanding. This course is a combination of academical and technical work experience provided by VISION organization.
First, the course gives an introduction on the characterization of reservoir rocks in Petroleum Engineering then it proceeds to discuss steady state flow regime and how to obtain flow rates and pressure profiles in laminar/turbulent conditions. Further more, a detailed explanation on the Darcy's experiments for both horizontal and tilted reservoirs is indicated.
In the third and fourth portions, the course introduces pseudo/un-steady state flow regimes derived from the general diffusivity equation. In addition, the numerical solution for theses flow conditions is further discussed.
The last portion of the course are two interesting separate subjects 'Miscible Flow & Streamline Simulaiton', defining the basic principles and governing equations for both subjects.
