Hello! I'm Lara, welcome you to my course: watercolour mixing basics for beginners.

Any watercolour enthusiast who wants to delve into the ins and outs of colour theory and apply it to their projects can take this course. You will find easy exercises to do from scratch, even if you do not know watercolour.

You will paint a colour wheel with the three primary colours: yellow, magenta and blue, and find what the properties and qualities of colour are, based on super simple exercises. You will know all the types of harmonies that exist and how to create a watercolour mixing chart and a colour catalogue with the colours you currently have in your palette.

For the final project, we will do a colour study like Kandinsky did in his painting Squares and Concentric Circles, applying everything learned in the course. It is a challenging and fun project!

You can also take it if you use other media, but keep in mind that in watercolour, the way of lightening colours is water, not using white.

You do not need to own a commercial colour wheel to take this course.

What supplies do I need?

• Watercolors. It's convenient to have yellow, red magenta and blue color.

• Watercolor brush (I use the number 6)

• 300 gr cellulose or cotton paper

• Some containers for water and absorbent paper.

• HB or H pencil, a ruler, and compass (optional).

Anyone who wants to discover watercolor, regardless of the level - even if you have just started working in watercolor.
