ADHD: Study skills for High School/University

ADHD: Study skills for High School/University

There are so many factors which get in the way of educational success for individuals with ADHD.  This can result in students not being able to meet their potential, just because of the way the ADHD brain is wired.  Studying is HARD, right?

With the education system being as it is, there comes about some real judgement about a person's intelligence, which is not justified if the ability to produce scripts, essays and reports are difficult due to neurodiversity.

This course has been designed for individuals who are studying for important exams, whether at the end of high school, college or at University.

In this course I'll explain how to help yourself to make sense of your study time, organise your folders and resources, and with tips on staying on top of the programme.  I'll also provide information about things that you can reasonably request are adjusted for you (from your educators).  By working in a co-operative way with your educators, and with ideas picked up from this course, you'll have a much better chance of staying on top of your studying.

We know that you are one of many thousands of ADHDers 'out there' who have great motivation, knowledge and comprehension, and are perfectly talented, and should breeze through your education years.  But when it comes to organising thoughts, making sense of handouts and textbooks, keeping to timetables and time constraints, and taking exams...... well often it just goes wrong.

It can cause so much stress and self-destruction during what can be a difficult time in a young person's life, and has far-reaching consequences.   So Section 5 covers many ways to manage pressure and stress, and the anxiety which may follow.  You'll learn many ways to help yourself, with tips and ideas for your self care, too:

- resilience

- overcoming anxiety

- ways to change negative thoughts to positive thoughts

You can create new routines which will help you overcome these obstacles and prove yourself.
