WONDERLIC Exam Questions Practice Test

WONDERLIC Exam Questions Practice Test

The Wonderlic Personnel Test (formerly known as the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test) is a popular group intelligence test used to assess the aptitude of prospective employees for learning and problem-solving in a range of occupations. The Wonderlic is available in 12 different languages and is often used in college, entry level jobs, and team-making efforts. It consists of 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 12 minutes. The test was developed by Eldon F. Wonderlic. The Wonderlic test was based on another test called the Otis Self-Administering Test of Mental Ability.

The test is organized by WONDERLIC, INC.

The tests are divided into four different sections: cognitive, skill, personality, and behavioral. The scores are predictors of the possible conformity that a potential employee has within the field for which they are applying. Each test has a different number of questions and time requirement, and either can or cannot be administered via computer.

Personality and aptitude tests can help employers better understand job applicants' abilities and competencies. While tests aren't lone indicators of a candidate's future success, they can help employers assess how well the candidate might perform in a position. The Wonderlic test is a powerful employee assessment many employers and organizations use to evaluate prospective employees. In this article, we explain what the Wonderlic test is, share how to pass it and offer tips you can use to improve your score and increase your chances of moving forward in the hiring process.

The Wonderlic test quizzes test-takers in several key areas:

  • Vocabulary and verbal reasoning: Some questions in the Wonderlic test focus on verbal reasoning, like making sense of proverbs, analogies and synonyms. For example, the test might ask participants to find two proverbs with similar meanings.

  • Problem-solving: Wonderlic tests also assess job candidates and test-takers in their problem-solving skills. The test includes logic questions that check for spatial recognition and deductive reasoning skills.

  • General knowledge: There are some general knowledge questions on the test that require quick thinking. For example, the test might ask which number is the smallest or which date is the earliest.

  • Word problems: The last test questions on the Wonderlic test are mathematical word problems. They evaluate test takers' understanding of common mathematical concepts like ratios, averages and percentages.
