Karate Kicks Every Karateka Needs to Know
Karate Kicks Every Karateka Needs to Know
This course teaches how to perform some of the most effective kicks used in Karate. These particular kicks are not found in the Isshinryu Karate System but are definitely worth learning and using for self defense and sparring.
The 8 kicks taught in this course are the Lead-Leg Angled Roundhouse Kick, Lead-Leg Side Thrust Kick, Rear-Leg Roundhouse Kick, Front-Leg Push Kick, Spinning Back Kick, Off-Angled Lead-Leg Heel Kick, Rear-Leg Push Kick, and Off-Angled Front Snap Kick.
Each kick has its own video lesson which thoroughly demonstrates and explains step by step how to perform the kick. Each lesson also touches on proper usage in a self defense situation. Structure, posture, foot work, body mechanics, and common misconceptions are covered in this course.
A kicking bag or other striking surface is recommended for this course. However, if you do not have access to a striking surface, you can still practice these kicks in the air.
This course culminates with a workout video that includes practice with all of the kicks learned.
If you are interested in learning Isshinryu or if you are already an Isshinryu practitioner of any rank and would like to learn more about katas and bunkai, please check out my "Dissect the Dissection" courses.
