1. To discuss and explain procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace.
2. Identify the type of fire, and its context and select the appropriate fire fighting procedure.
3. Identify, select and check appropriate fire fighting and safety equipment.
4. Fight containable/extinguishable fires.
5. Retreat from the fire site and hand over to appropriate personnel.
6. Record the status of fire and equipment.
The purpose of the training course:
The learner credited with this course will be capable of identifying, containing, preventing, and extinguishing different types of fires by operating basic firefighting equipment.
The learner will be capable of:
1. Identifying different types of fires.
2. Explaining and practicing fire prevention.
3. Operating basic firefighting equipment.
4. Perform basic firefighting procedures.
What is the purpose of basic firefighting training?
The purpose of this basic fire fighting training is to give participants skills, knowledge, and expertise that will enable them to identify the conditions capable of causing fire, know how to use a fire extinguisher, respond appropriately to fire emergencies and follow the fire evacuation plan, adequately implement fire emergency procedures.
