Hello and welcome to this course. I know Greek mythology can be a heavy subject with a lot of names and a lot of action, but to be honest, it doesn’t have to be that way. When I designed this course, I didn’t want it to be a plain ‘name dropping’ course with a bunch of years and soo much information, that by the end of it you wouldn’t be able to remember any. In my opinion, no matter the age, learning should be fun. So I have introduced real places that are connected to the ancient Greek gods, and archaeological discoveries; words that have a story to tell us, thousands of years later; ancient recipes that the Greeks were preparing while teaching their children of the mighty gods and all that the Gods did for them; natural phenomena that the ancient Greeks described or personified through mythology. Bottom line is, mythology should not be boring. If its boring, you are doing it wrong. So why not embark with me onto this journey of discovery and see the ancient Gods for yourself? Come meet the Greeks and their heroes! Hear them talk about the mythical creatures the Gods created and the spirits of Nature. Discover a wonderful world, 4000 years old and filled with adventure.
