There is an ever-growing need for better project management within engineering, business, and technology disciplines, and this course is a direct response to that need. By emphasizing practical applications, this course targets the ultimate purpose of project management: to unify and integrate many stakeholders' interests, resources, and work efforts to accomplish the overall project goal.

Course Objectives:

By completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Define systems, explain their characteristics, and relate them to projects

  2. List and explain all the main steps in the initiation phase to compare proposals and ultimately to select the best contractor

  3. Outline and explain important segments of the project master plan

  4. Build main sections of the project plan (such as schedule, cost, quality, and risk), analyze the project based on them, and assess it to create a project master plan

  5. Evaluate project progress using Earn Value Management System and estimate new completion date and budget for any given project
