A teacher training course that holistically prepares ESL teachers for the Chinese market which I've acquired through experience over my teaching career which spans 10 years and it sets them up to gain an insight on cultural differences and for them to adjust their teaching strategies accordingly and also covers key aspects necessary to understand to excel at teaching in China. We also delve into to an introduction of the ESL industry, mimic the general personality of the ordinary ESL student personality to see what they can already do and decipher how teachers could better place themselves in a favourable position to produce whats required by the Chinese ESL learner. We cover common mistakes for teachers to gain practice on how to rectify and give explanations to students on key grammatical, vocabulary and cultural elements. The course also shares my teaching protocol structured around local teaching norms already palatable to ESL learners and furthermore we conclude the course with a grading protocol useful for teacher to share which encompasses a structure that teachers could adopt to make grading more concise, highlight specific points of interest and also conclude a generally positive notion, but still point out mistakes.
