Watercolor Painting – The Direct Approach

Watercolor Painting – The Direct Approach

We are aiming to be original and creative artists and the way we use watercolors must be unique and creative. This course will explain what the direct approach to the watercolor painting is. Throughout the course I will explain and demonstrate the important elements of using the direct approach to create loose watercolors. If you want to loosen up your watercolor painting style this is the course for you.

The course will explain wat a contour drawing is. How much water and pigment to use. Brief exercises to demonstrate tonal values. A look at the color wheel and specific harmonious colors, complementary colors, color temperature (warm and cold), and a limited palette.

The course include a limited palette beginner exercise to paint an Elephant in two parts. It also include a comprehensive project "Paint With Me - Zebras Migrating" in seven parts where you will paint along with me.

One of the most prominent elements of my work is the loose free flowing technique used on almost all my painting. So, I made it a point in this course to really concentrate on using the direct approach and create loose free flowing watercolors which is one of the secrets of my artwork.

If you have always wanted to be able to paint, what are you waiting for? Start on your journey today. Every day adds a layer of knowledge, step by step improving your art, until you have the skills to say what you want to say.
