We will start this course with a brief overview of the project manager’s responsibilities and the role of the scope management plan in the overall project plan. We will then focus on the key steps of the scope management process including Collecting Requirements, Defining Scope, Creating WBS, Verifying Scope and Controlling Scope.

We will then focus on Project Scope Management Plan which includes sections like Requirements, Owners/Stakeholders, Scope Statement, WBS, WBS Dictionary, Roles and Responsibilities, Deliverables, Scope Verification and Scope Control.

Subsequently, we will chat about requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation. We will examine several real-life examples of scope statements including Airport Check-in Kiosk, Mobile Number Portability, CRM System Implementation and Energy Efficient House projects.

Later we will discuss Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), the rules of their creation, work packages as well as several examples of WBS, including the “Room Painting” project. We will also examine WBS Dictionaries.

Furthermore, we will analyze the “Roles and Responsibilities” and “Deliverables” (Scope Inclusions and Exclusions) section of the document.
