2021 Quarkus Fundamentals - Guide to Get Started in 1 Hour

Quarkus is the new kid on the block when it comes to Java frameworks. It is forecasted to be the next big thing for 2021. This is for a really good reason, it is high performance, easy to set up and kubernetes-native based. No experience yet? Don't worry, we've got you covered. In this course we'll help you to master the basics of Quarkus and understand the important concepts. The course is (at least for now) a quickstart. In only two hours from now you can confidently start using Quarkus and write applications of your own using this very new framework.

This is what we'll be doing:

• What are EE applications? (Skip this if you know this already :) )

• HelloWorld Quarkus -  based on the Quarkus official guide

• Reactive programming with Quarkus - based on the Quarkus official guide

• Quarkus REST API

There is a lot more to cover. Time is valuable and even though we do intend on adding small things to the course, we'll focus on keeping it short and get you started.

However we do love your feedback, so please reach out if you have any remarks or there's something in particular you'd like us to add to this Quarkus course. One thing is for sure, after this course you'll have a good understanding of the basics concepts of Quarkus and how to get started developing using Quarkus.

This course is meant for software developers who have some experience using Java already, although I'm pretty sure you can follow along if you are a backend software developer in another language as well.
