Fundamentals of Mechanical Vibration

Fundamentals of Mechanical Vibration

Vibrations are defined as an oscillation in mechanical dynamic systems which causes minor or serious performance or safety problems in an engineered system. The course focuses and covers important topics such as the classification of vibrations, linearization and lumping of parameters, analysis of free vibrations, analysis of forced vibrations, vibration due to unbalanced masses, vibration isolation, and transmissibility, analysis of force transmissibility, transverse vibrations, higher critical speeds, and whirling speed of the shaft.
