It is a very simple way of understanding the basics and then building on to make a critical path for the entire project. We have many activities in the project and many activities can overlap and hence to represent the activities diagramatically will assist in getting a clear picture of the whole project.

There are simple steps explained and following them will enable you to construct a Network Path Diagram and do the various analysis.

The Projects are made up of many activities and the activities have dependencies or relationships. If all the dependencies are depicted in a logical diagrammatic representation and we are able to show the flexibility of certain activities , then we have a complete picture of the project in a time line.

Once the Network diagram is established we can find the flexibility of various activities and determine the longest path in which we can finish all the activities in the shortest time.
