The Individual parts that you need to know for this course are some chords and the 6th chord in any key, known as the relative minor of that Key.

For instance, in the Key of C Major the relative minor is the 6th chord A minor (C(1st),D(2nd),E(3rd),F(4th),G(5th),A(6th))

What is the paradox? Is it that your mind automatically supplies a second line: “Whose

limericks stopped at line one.” ? Or is it the very

idea of a limerick having fewer than five lines?

By using the runs from this course, You will lead your audience (just like the limericks above) and create dynamic introductions, interludes and endings to your performances. No longer be the same as all those other guitar players who just shakily start songs after strumming a few chords or randomly stop suddenly leaving the listener wondering should they clap or not!

Instead, use your runs in a musical manner to let the audience know that you are about to begin. As soon as you start one of these bass runs the audience are primed to expect the beginning of the song.

Use the runs to minor chords effectively to increase the tension that minor chords bring to a song. Then release it with a run to the next major chord. Bring the listener with you.

If you use it at the end of the song you can start to slow the run down thereby informing the audience that the song is drawing to a close.

Then, they will definitely clap!

Use them throughout the song to add depth, colour and shade to your playing.

To Go Fast, Go Slow

This is a comprehensive course over 6 hours long. The good news is that you do not have to finish the course to start using what you learn straight away. In fact, the best way to use this course is to go slowly.

You can start straight away by going to your favourite key and learning one run. This will consist of a total of three notes played across two strings next to each other, depending on your chosen chord.

It is as simple and as quick as that. You can stop there and start using that run in your playing immediately.

One run alone can have multiple uses depending on the key of the song. For instance, the run from G to Em can be used in songs in both keys OR as an introduction to a song in Em. All that with just 3 notes!

When you are ready, add the next chord. This will use the same 3 note pattern (or similar) just played in a different position from the previous one.

Now you have two runs. And lots more possibilities at your fingertips already.

I Don’t Have Time?

Everyone has time to learn 3 notes. Surely it is worth the effort to be the player that people remember? Start with the simple runs and add the more advanced ones as you progress.

I Am A Beginner

As soon as you learn to play a few minor chords you can learn to add in these subtle notes. The videos break everything down into bite sized pieces and lead you through each key and chord note by note. You will learn by repeating each run slowly. These are not going to interfere with your playing; they are going to improve your playing. And you don't even need to be able to read music!

Learn By Doing

My goal is to demystify this stuff, because at its core it's not really that complicated.

You play along WITH each video. This is not a course where you watch me demonstrate each technique and then you try to figure out what I just did and decipher it. You play ALONG WITH ME. I break each run down into tiny pieces and we play them together as we learn the whole run. So you are going to have to work – but not too hard. It’s only three notes at a time after all! And, I try to make sure that we have fun while doing so.

However, the more that you use the runs the easier it will be to play it in a variety of tempos and musical styles. It is learning by doing but still can be implemented immediately.

I Cannot Read Music

You do not have to be able to read music to learn how to add bass runs to your guitar playing.  Also, the videos are very clear shot from two points of view. Everything is broken down clearly. And slowly.
