What distinguishes this treatment of the texts from others out there is that students get enough help to keep them on tract and to encourage them to “try it on their own” but not so much that thinking becomes optional. It’s meant for serious-minded students who want to achieve a real reading ability and who are willing to do what it takes to get there.
