Do you want to create storytelling with data using Power BI?

Power BI is an excellent tool for transferring data into information, however, very often, you cannot achieve your desired result with the standard visuals, which are available out of the box. Fortunately, Microsoft also provides us with the Power BI Custom Visual API and Power BI visual tools, which allow us to create our own custom visuals.

During this course, I will guide you on how to create three different custom visuals:

• The custom slicer, which can be used as a single-choice menu with a separate item for the filter reset.

• The Lollipop chart, which shows if the actual results are above or below the target. During this section, I will demonstrate how to implement tooltips, cross-filtering, cross-highlighting, and conditional formatting.

• KPI label, which displays a different icon if the average value is above or on the target and the different one if the current result is below the target. In this section, you will learn how to use external SVG designs in your custom visual.

• How to implement cross-filtering and cross-highlighting

• How to use Microsoft Power BI Visuals Formatting Utils

• How to implement slicers with powerbi-models

• How to embed into custom visuals SVG graphics created in external drawing software.
